“Come to LA, She said”
“All the tailors are retiring and dying.”
These were her words, not mine. They were from an enigmatic costume designer I had the pleasure of working for. And go I did. Packed up my bags in NY and headed back home, home to LA, With nothing more than a hope, like many before me, like many after.
That was 8 years ago.
I’ve since spent those years working as a tailor in LA, making fantastic things for fantastic projects for fantastic actors. I’ve had the pleasure of working with everyone and anyone, from the A to the Z list.
I’m proud of my work that brought me here, but this project is the one that’s most important to me. Its the most personal to me. Its the one I’m most proud of. And that’s because instead of making other peoples dreams come true, I’m making my own.
What will follow are pieces that are a culmination of my time as a tailor, as a participant in the making of stories that we love and share. I’ve ripped apart 18th century petty coats, made comic book hero super suits, and made some leading actors look pretty good in our contemporary time.
What I’m creating here are beautiful pieces who’s quality and style will both stand the test of time. They are pieces that are very personal to me, and that I’ve poured my heart and soul into. They are are clothes that I wear extensively before I hand them over to an audience.
What I make here is rooted in what it means to live here, in the south land, stunningly beautiful and often brutal. Undeniably the west.
Thank you for being here.
